We originally started African Treasures because we found it difficult to locate quality African musical instruments in local stores for our drumming circles. We decided to take a trip to Africa to see if we could find the kind of musical instruments we were looking for. As more and more friends and colleagues became intrigued with our percussion instruments, we increased the number of buying trips to Africa. We found many different styles of drums, bells, shakers, balafons, kalimbas, udus and other goodies. What started as a love for African music has become a desire to share our products around the world. Then we started adding musical instruments from other areas of the world, like rainsticks, flutes, tambourines and the list goes on.
